This service is intended for dancers and/or artistic athletes who are looking to improve their technique or have sustained an injury. Danna has extensive training in dance rehabilitation and will provide a detailed assessment and personalized treatment plan to help you achieve your goals. Danna welcomes dancers and artistic athletes of all ages and skill levels, whether recreational or elite competitive dancers.

A pre-pointe screen is used to determine readiness to begin pointe work. This evidence based screen assesses strength, mobility, balance, and coordination to ensure a safe start to pointe work and prevent injuries.


Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy

Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy is specialized physiotherapy which uses internal and external assessment and treatment techniques to decrease pain and improve pelvic floor function.


Motor Vehicle Accident Physiotherapy

This session is for those involved in Motor Vehicle Accidents and just like every person is unique, every condition or injury is different and requires treatment specific to your needs. We may use a combination of techniques to help you refine your function. This may include: manual therapy, exercise prescription, Integrated Dry Needling, acupuncture, and other modalities.

Your appointment includes all assessment & evaluation, discussion for valid consent to treatment, and patient education.

Erica Zeman Hayes grew up in Niagara Falls, ON, where she was a provincial level gymnast and an active member of both her high school and her community. Pursuing a love of science and health, Erica completed an Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology at McMaster University in 2009 and continued on to complete a two year Masters of Science Degree in Physiotherapy in 2011.

Following graduation, Erica completed five years of post-graduate education to obtain a Diploma in Manual and Manipulative Physiotherapy giving her the designation of being a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Physiotherapy (FCAMPT). Erica has also completed her training in Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy through Pelvic Health Solutions and a certificate in treating issues surrounding babies and breastfeeding. In addition, Erica completed additional training in Integrated Dry Needling, Acupuncture, vestibular rehabilitation and has assisted as an instructor in an FCAMPT preparation course.

Danna received her Honors Specialization in Health Sciences Bachelors Degree from Western University and her Masters of Science in Physiotherapy from McMaster University. She continued her Physiotherapy education by completing her Diploma of Advanced Manual and Manipulative Therapy to become a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Physiotherapy (FCAMPT). To complement her manual therapy skills, she has also completed training in acupuncture through the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada Institute and is certified in Integrated Dry Needling. In addition to her clinical practice, Danna enjoys teaching and has facilitated in the University of Toronto Physiotherapy program.

Danna has formal training in music and dance including ballet, pointe, jazz, lyrical, and tap. She has extensive training in dance rehabilitation in areas including pre-season and pre-pointe assessments, assessment and treatment of dance injuries and hypermobility disorders, establishing safe warm up and stretching routines, dance specific exercise rehabilitation including core stability, strategies to improve turn out, arabesque, développé and other dance specific techniques. She is a member of Healthy Dancer Canada and Pivot Dancer. She has treated dancers at the National Ballet School of Canada, Mirvish, George Brown College, Ryerson University, Centennial College, York University, as well as dancers across multiple studios around the GTA.

Since becoming a mother, Danna has developed a keen interest in Women’s Health. She has completed training to become Certified in Postnatal Fitness through the Postnatal Fitness Specialist Academy. She enjoys educating women about prenatal and postnatal conditions including pelvic/low back pain, diastasis rectus, incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, and providing external pelvic treatment and strategies for a safe return to daily activity and exercise.

Danna combines her manual therapy skills with exercise prescription, dry needling, taping, and client education in order to help her clients achieve their personal goals.

Dianna grew up in Ancaster and spent her high school years running track and cross country. It was in high school where she became intrigued with sports injuries and working with athletes. After completing her physiotherapy degree at McMaster University in 2010, she worked in Varsity athletics at McMaster, for the next 6 years. During that time she completed her Diploma of Advanced Manual and Manipulative Therapy to become a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Physiotherapy (FCAMPT). In addition, she completed training in Integrated Dry Needling.

Using these skills, Dianna joined the Canadian Bobsled team on the road for 6 seasons ending with 2 bronze medals at the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing, China. In between winter seasons, Dianna has worked closely with MLB, NHL, CFL, MLS and NBA athletes supporting their training and rehabilitation in the off seasons. Recently Dianna completed a Masters of Sport and Exercise Medicine at Western University, obtaining a Diploma of Sport Physiotherapy and became a Registered International Sport Physical Therapist.

When not at Grindstone, Dianna is working with the Canadian Track Cycling Team supporting them internationally at competition and locally at the velodrome in Milton and will accompany them to the upcoming Summer Olympics in Paris.

Ashley Schutten grew up in Toronto, ON where she was always active in her high school fitness and extra curricular activities. She also pursued her love and passion for music and became a piano instructor for 9 years. In 2011, Ashley completed with honours the Registered Massage Therapy course at the Canadian Therapeutic College in Burlington. As a post graduate, Ashley worked in various physiotherapy and rehabilitation facilities where her thriving interest was to help clients reach their healing and physical needs.

She has completed multiple continuing education courses including hot stone massage, therapeutic taping, and most recently the McMaster Medical Acupuncture program.

Graham Dalseg grew up in Sault Ste. Marie, ON, being competitive in hockey and badminton, and enjoying outdoor sports from golf and watersports in the summer to snowboarding in the winter. Injuries throughout his adolescence exposed Graham to physiotherapy and guided him into an Undergraduate Degree in Kinesiology and subsequent Masters Degree in Physiotherapy at McMaster University.

Following graduation, Graham continued his education completing five years of course work to obtain his Diploma of Manual and Manipulative Therapy and become a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Physiotherapy (FCAMPT). He has also completed training in Integrated Dry Needling and now assists as an instructor in the program, educating advanced-trained physiotherapists on how to safely assess the need for and apply the technique.

Away from the clinic, you will find Graham on a golf course in the summer and chasing waves to surf on the Great Lakes in the fall and winter.
